2. How do I know if I am a QP or PQ? CMS has three evaluation periods during which it makes QP determinations. To be considered part of the APM Entity, an eligible clinician must be on an APM participation list on one of the three following dates March 31 – physicians will be notified of their status after July 2023 June 30 – physicians will be notified of their status after October 2023 August 31 – physicians will be notified of their status after December 2023 CMS will review the APM Entity’s participation list and review the collective performance of the APM Entity as a group to determine if the QP/PQ thresholds have been met. As noted above, if a PQ determination is made for the APM Entity, the APM Entity has the option to participate in MIPS to be eligible for the MIPS positive payment adjustment.
